Getting work and being included

Hello, my name
is Agnes.

I love working with children and I have two jobs, one paid and one voluntary.

I have been working with children for more than 16 years and I think that if you put a lot into it you get a lot out of it.

When I was small the Doctors and Social Workers told my parents "Your child will never get a job in her life" but they were wrong! I enjoy my work and I know that I am good at what I do. I like being paid so I have more independence and I like meeting people - other staff and the children's families.

It is a responsible job - looking after children - and I get to do lots of different things. We play games with the children, tell them stories, bake cakes, sing, do jigsaws, make dough and have nap time. I am proud of what I do and of who I am.

I wouldn't be happy sitting about doing nothing!
