Local Area Co-ordination and people with mental health problems

About this project

In August 2006, Outside the Box invited people to a workshop, to look at how the approach which underpins Local Area Co-ordination could be used to support people with mental health problems.

People came from many parts of Scotland. They included people who had a personal interest in services for themselves or for someone they cared about and staff who worked in a wide range of services.

The report has a summary of the main points raised at the workshop and ideas about how people can take on this discussion in their areas.

It draws on examples and experiences from people in Scotland and in other places, especially the experience in Australia where the approach was first developed.

There are references to fuller notes and background papers, most of which are on websites.
