Edinburgh Home Link Partnership
Making opportunities for people who are homeless to have their say
About this project
The Edinburgh Home Link Partnership is a voluntary organisation providing services to homeless people who have multiple support needs. The Edinburgh Home Link Partnership was formed in April 2002 from a partnership between 2 existing voluntary organisations - HOP and Link In. They provide quality, accessible services to marginalised individuals with multiple support needs.
EHLP believe that with appropriate help and support, any disadvantaged individual can regain their place within society.
The organisation wants to be sure that the people they support are involved in all aspects of our work. We also want to enable and encourage people to have a say about the ways in which other services are delivered and engage with people. This includes the specialist services that the people we know will need, such as social care, health care, housing and support. It also could include all the other mainstream services and activities that most people in Scotland use on a daily basis. But most of the ways in which people are consulted and involved are based around people who live in the same place for long periods, and who have easy access to written material, phones, etc, and who are part of community networks. We have to find other ways for the people we support to have choices around being part of society.
Outside the Box is working with staff and with the people we support. We will be developing a model for the people who use the service to feed in their experiences and views. Outside the Box will also help homeless people and staff at EHLP raise the issues which are important to the people the organisation supports.
