Disabled People
People Working Together Event
This event brought together people who use social care services who are working together to deliver services or create more opportunities for them and other people.
The aim was to share what people are learning and to encourage people to think about this approach and the benefits it can bring.
It was for:
People working in/part of community group.
Staff from local authorities who are commissioning services, in care management or strategic planning roles.
People from voluntary sector care providers.
Other people who are interested.
Projects that are leading workshops or giving information include:
Social networking website, to enable people to be more included in the community and make friends.
Peer support by older people.
Peer support groups led by people with mental health problems and by people with a range of disabilities.
Group led by people recovering from addictions.
Buggy walks, to enable mums to improve wellbeing for themselves and their children.
Community development within organisations that provide social care.
