Training and other learning for people in communities and for people who work in services

Once you know what you want to achieve and who you are working with, you still have to make it all happen.

We can provide training and support for other types of learning for people in many situations - these are some examples.

  • Members of community groups.
  • People who work in organisations which provide or plan for services.
  • People from several organisations or roles.

We can help you learn about different elements of your activities.

  • How people can have more opportunities to participate and have their say.
  • Understanding how change happens - and why things do not always go to plan.
  • Learning a skill or getting information on a topic, and then making this part of day-to-day activities.
  • Capacity building for people who want to learn skills and build up their experience and confidence.

Some of the training and learning has grown out of projects we have supported. These are some of the areas where we have provided training or are developing material to help people learn.

  • Services and community groups - including people who use services and family carers - learning how to make service have more focus on enabling people to keep well.
  • Ways to promote good mental health and wellbeing for a people who use a service - for example, services that support older people or people with learning difficulties, or for local community groups.
  • Ways to enable people to have more say in the services and care they get - which methods or tools can work in which situations, and how to get started.
  • Ways for people to participate in planning and designing the services they will be using.

We can also design training and other learning that fits your circumstances. This could be

  • A training course to get people started
  • setting up and supporting shadowing pairs
  • providing support and developing people's skills around problem solving when people are starting to apply what they have learned
  • Providing update material, so other people in your organisation or network can share the learning.
